Study finds that many CBD products are incorrectly labeled

The popularity of products that contain CBD has exploded in the US market in recent years. But an FDA report reveals that consumers may not be getting exactly what they expect when they purchase some of these products.

Conducted from 2014-2019, the study examined 147 products for humans and pets that allegedly contain CBD. Short for cannabidiol, CBD is a component of cannabis that is known for its calming properties, but not for creating a mind-altering experience (that’s caused by another cannabis component, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)).

Many of the tested products contained significantly less CBD than promised on the label. More troublingly, a number also contained THC, which wasn’t specified on the label.

Read on to learn more about the CBD product study’s findings.
