Another way to stay entertained during quarantine: Merriam-Webster’s online Q&A sessions
Got a nagging question about English? You might be able to get an answer from none other than an editor of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary!
The dictionary has started holding live Q&A sessions via its Twitter account, @MerriamWebster.com.
Lexicologically curious Twitter users will have the opportunity to get answers from an actual editor of the dictionary in real-time. The first session took place on Thursday, March 26.
Questions ranged from using punctuation with brand names that have become verbs, to whether the opposite of “debunk” is “bunk”.
The next live Q&A session will take place on Thursday, April 2, around 4pm EST, so have your questions ready!
In the meantime, you can read last week’s questions and answers via the #ASKMW hashtag.
